I personally don’t get it… We are so fortunate to have clean water delivered right to several rooms in our homes and even to ports on the exterior, but still we pay extra and use resources for ‘better’ water. During the weekly parties (well, maybe now and then) we hold at our house, people always ask about the plywood flooring. We have used plywood on several projects with great results. It is inexpensive and comes in a variety of species. We installed it ourselves and so can you! Here is a quick video of how we did it in our home.

I was honored to be asked to make a presentation at the AIA Minnesota Convention this past week. The gist was to discuss using video to help convey not only the visual but experiential aspects of architecture. This video was one of several I showed and was used to explain some DIY info. Unfortunately, it is not meant as a stand-alone but was paired with a Power Point presentation on how it was put together… (and there are a few inside jokes included for the attended audience). Just another day in the life of an architect. We are finalizing the finish selections for a new $4 million office facility and making all of those selections can be overwhelming. We thought this video might help explain a bit of that process.
